Burial

A burial service, or committal, is typically held following the main funeral service. The casket or urn is placed into the ground (often times with a vault), or in an above ground crypt or niche. Depending on religious beliefs, mourners are frequently invited to attend the burial, which may include short readings and prayers, assist with the lowering of the casket or placing dirt on top, or simply have a "witness burial" and be present while the cemetery staff completes the committal service.

Rate: Variable depending on the cemetery and your choice of casket and vault. Other costs include cemetery space, opening and closing of the grave, set-up of tent, chairs, and microphone, and a headstone or marker.
